PURPOSE: A multifunctional credit card checker capable of using an Internet contents service and a service method using the same are provided to receive various Internet contents services according to an intention of a member shop owner or a customer using a credit card by adding a function to use the Internet contents service besides a credit card settlement service to the credit card checker. CONSTITUTION: A card information reading controller(110) receives the information stored in the credit card. A settlement module controller(120) stores the settlement modules for executing the credit card settlement. A key input controller(130) inputs the data for using the credit card and inputting various information when starting the Internet contents service, and calls one from the settlement modules. A display(140) displays the item selected for a process for the credit card settlement and the Internet contents service. An output controller(170) outputs a result for the credit card settlement and the Internet contents service. A communication controller connects the credit card checker to the Internet, and transmits/receives the data related to the settlement.
