<p>A color cathode ray tube, comprising a shadow mask (7) having a main mask (14) and an auxiliary mask (20) overlapped with each other, wherein electron beam passing holes (12) and (42) formed in the main mask and the auxiliary mask are arranged at specified pitches in a major X-axis direction, the electron beam passing holes in the auxiliary mask are formed of communication holes having small holes (26b) opening to the surface of the auxiliary mask coming into contact with the main mask and large holes (26a) opening to the opposite surface of the auxiliary mask communicating with each other, and the small and large holes of the electron beam passing holes in the auxiliary mask have center axes extending in major axis direction coaxially with each other and generally vertical relative to the surface of the auxiliary mask.</p> |
