A support frame for a hoist cabin which moves up and down a vertical guide (1) on the rear of the cabin, has an L-shaped main frame comprising a rear frame and a floor support frame (4). The improvement has a low profile upper frame (5) comprising two parallel struts (5) secured between the top of the rear frame and linked to the bottom frame by two tensile hangers (2) at the front of the cabin. The additional struts are fitted with two pulleys (9) evenly spaced each side of the centre of mass of the cabin and the cabin is supported by a cable (8) looped over the pulleys. This ensures that the weight of the cabin is evenly supported with reduced wear on the upright guides. By using two pulleys the cabin is supported without swinging.
