<p>A metal plate for securing roof battens to roof joists has a base plate (2a) with holes (3) for nailing onto the cladding batten (5a) laid onto the roof joist (5b). The plate has a raised central flange (2b) and two flat side flanges (6) to support the butting ends of battens (4), which are nailed to the cladding batten. The plate is made of folded steel or iron plate and can be corrosion protected by zinc plating. The bottom end of the plate has a stamped tag (7) which grips the cladding batten and secures the plate prior to nailing.</p> |
