Slider is movable to and fro over at least one needle bed, and carries a cam with a needle raiser. The slide is interchangeably attached to a perforated program carrier which has rows of holes one behind the other. The carrier can be advanced one hole row division at each slider reversal. The slider has sampling elements, stationary relative to the slider, one for each possible hole position in the rows. A rotatable disc in the slider is fast with a toothed wheel, which meshes with a rack on the needle bed and carries a set of transfer elements. The rack and pinion drive is mounted so that as the slider moves one needle division the disc turns one division from one transfer element to the next. The transfer elements are individually attached to the parts imparting the sample motion over the distance from the disc rotation axis, individually or in a mirror-image repeated arrangement in relation to a diametral plane of the disc. Means transfer the motion of the transfer element operated at the time by a sampling element to the needle raise(s). |
