Heating elements which are inserted between the polyethylene insulation ends of cables and the mouth of a junction box sheath to bond the two together tend to leave britle zones, leading to cracks. The meander coils of the elements are therefore given a varying amplitude or a wave shape so that sharp annular changes are avoided.
