A system for producing packaging material from paper strip has paper rolls on a support bar providing parallel strips of paper to pairs of crimping rollers in a continuous feed. The crimped paper is moved under creasing guides for additional shaping followed by chopping into short lengths. The creasing guides are either spring loaded or ballasted. The paper lengths are dispensed out of a funnel (3) into the packaging in the required quantities. The equipment is compact and portable.
