<p>In a process to de-water sewage effluent or industrial sludge, a de-watering solution is admixed. The solution consists of a solvent and an active ingredient whose concentration then progressively declines in the sludge. The concentration of the active ingredient is maintained by further admixture of solution, in quantities which maintaining the efficacy at between 30% and the maximum value. The efficacy is maintained at 0.8-0.9 of the maximum value by continual admixture of the de-watering solution. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of the de-watering solution using a polymer or polymer-electrolytic active ingredient admixed in powder or granular form; and (2) a process for the continual admixture of de-watering solvent and the removal of expelled water at constant rates, and the regulation of the rate of admixture in accordance with fluctuation in water content. Further claimed is a commensurate sludge treatment assembly.</p> |
