The hose reel (1) has a rotatable drum (6) supported on a frame (2) and having a hollow hub (7) which is provided on its sleeve face (10) on the horizontal axis (4) with an opening (11) to take the hollow pipe (12) into which the hose (18) opens at one end. The inner diameter of the hollow hub is larger than the outer diameter of the free end (16) of the hollow pipe which is mounted on the horizontal axis. A bearing (5) for turning the drum has a larger internal diameter than the outer diameter of the free end of the pipe.
