<p>A membrane (10) for hydrogen recovery from streams (14) containing hydrogen sulfide is provided. The membrane (10) comprises a substrate (18), a hydrogen permeable first membrane layer (16) deposited on the substrate (18), and a second membrane layer (12) deposited on the first layer (16). The second layer (12) contains sulfides of transition metals and positioned on a feed side of the hydrogen sulfide stream (14). The present invention also includes a method for the direct decomposition of hydrogen sulfide to hydrogen and sulfur.</p> |
