Method for cleaning waste waters emanating, in particular, from foodstuff and meat processing plants, involves use of water tanks with rotating cleaning drums (7, 13) filled with clay granulate and provided with compressed air nozzles (21). The latter serve for production of a foam (22) which contains fats, oils and proteins, and are transferable from the perforated drum surface into a container (17) by means of scraper units. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementation of the proposed method.
