摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting a surface state of wire saws which can continuously detect whether or not products are good during a manufacturing process while eliminating a quality confirmation inspection for every manufacturing lot after wire saws are manufactured, and further store a coating state of abrasive grains at wire saw surfaces for every manufacturing lot to feed back the state to correct a manufacturing condition afterwards. SOLUTION: At a terminal end of the manufacturing process of the wire saw 1a coated with hard abrasive grains, a plurality of spot illuminations are applied from slantwise to the whole periphery of the wire saw 1a so that a luminance difference between a coated abrasive grain part and a wire surface skin part becomes largest. A still image of a surface of the wire saw 1a is formed by a plurality of CCD cameras 8 arranged equally to the entire periphery. The signal is inputted to a computing unit 10. The number of abrasive grains, an area of abrasive grains and the like are continuously calculated and compared with preliminarily set thresholds, whereby whether the surface state of the wire saw 1a is good or not is detected.
