Photographic films comprising at least one image-carrying layer on a polyester support are spliced by applying to an area of the end of at least one of the polyester supports of the two pieces of film to be joined a swelling agent comprising at least one of the following compounds: - a partially etherified di or polyhyolric phenol or naphthol or a coumarin or thio coumarin, and then pressing said area into contact with similar area of the polyester support of the other piece of film and heating at a temperature between 100‹ -180‹ C. The swelling agent may be dissolved in a solvent therefor. |
