To produce a selective interlacing of filaments on multidimensional textile preforms, formed by rods pushed vertically downwards by a needle (3) with an open eye to be replaced by the filament. The needle eye is opened at the filament insertion point (9) after passing the piece for lacing and rod ejection, to take in the filament (21) to be placed in the gap which is left by the displaced rod. A number of different filaments are prepared in a parallel ready position, to be selected for insertion by the needle. A length of the selected filament is drawn off, to be passed through the needle eye, so that the needle is at the center of the prepared length for a doubled filament to be inserted and then cut. The filament is delivered by a suction tube (22) with a profiled opening (22a) over the distributor (13).
