发明名称 SAWING MACHINE
摘要
1,206,001. Sawing. HENRY SIMON Ltd. 18 Jan., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 2773/68. Heading B5C. [Also in Division B3] A sawing machine for making cuts in arcuate workpieces 140, Fig. 1, comprises a supporting structure 26 carrying a rotatably mounted workpiece-carrying structure 28, and a saw mechanism 27 mounted on the supporting structure for longitudinal movement relative to a workpiece on the carrying structure so that the workpiece can be cut with straight, angled, curved and combination lines as required. The supporting structure consists of braced uprights 30, 31 at their upper ends supporting vertical guideways 42 for bearing blocks 41 for a horizontal shaft 40, the shaft being manually rotatable and formed with pinions 47 engaging racks 44, whereby the shaft is vertically adjustable. The shaft carries a saw support 55 consisting of a pair of flat bearings 56 secured to opposite ends of a plate 57 for mounting a sabre saw 60 having an offset swivelling blade. A sleeve 64 is disposed between the bearings 56 and can be secured to the shaft 40 by a screw 66 passing through a lug, the latter being urged by a spring against a pin on one of the plates 56 to position the saw supporting structure. The latter can be moved against a spring pressure to disengage the saw from the workpiece during skip cutting. The workpiece-carrying support consists of a shaft 85 mounted in bearings 86 on the supporting frame. A pair of hubs 106 are adjustably secured by bolts to the shaft and have flanges 107 to which split work-receiving discs 108 are secured by bolts. The peripheries of the discs and flanges have bolt-receiving inserts 112, 113 by means of which arcuate workpieces 140 may be secured to the machine. The shaft 85 also carries an indexing disc 90 having circumferentially-spaced apertures selectively engageable by a bolt 98 to permit indexing of the workpiece. When the machine is in use without the indexing mechanism, a brake shoe 131 can be engaged with a disc 138 on the shaft by operation of a rod 126 to prevent rotation of the workpiece. Drilling.-A bar 75 is secured to the supporting structures and is provided with horizontally spaced bushings which act as guides for a hand drill used to drill radial holes in the arcuate workpiece.
