PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit more effective prevention of breeding of microbe or more effective purifying operation of an air-conditioned space by providing an ionization chamber, ionizing gas in air, and an ozone decomposing chamber, decomposing and removing ozone contained in the ionized gas. SOLUTION: When the fan 67 of a cooling unit 70 supplies inside air into a cooler 65 to cool it and send it out of a fan cover 68, the air is introduced into an ionization chamber 23 out of the supplying port 22a of a microbe breeding preventing device A through a duct 22b. Here, oxygen molecules and the like are ionized by the discharge of electrons generated upon impressing a negative current and voltage on a metallic needle side electrode 2 and a mesh type metallic grounding electrode 25 while ozone is generated simultaneously with the generation of said negative ion. Gas 27, containing the negative ion and ozone, arrives at an ozone decomposing chamber 28 and ozone is decomposed and removed by an ozone decomposing catalyst, then, the gas 30 is discharged into a refrigerating chamber 71 whereby bed-smelling substances and the like, generated out of vegetable, fluits and the like, are decomposed. |
