A sophisticated OSD function is achieved by utilizing a video generation circuit of a navigation unit. A synchronization determination circuit is provided to determine the synchronization method of an input video signal which is incorporated from external video input source. The video synchronization method and the frequency of the synchronization signal of the video generation circuit of the navigation unit are switched in accordance with the result of the determination.
