The beach or garden chair (8) is made entirely or partly of a water-proof sturdy plastics and comprises a lower part (10) containing the seat and backrest and an upper part (9) which serves as a windbreak and to support the back rest and to swing backwards and forwards on the lower part. When forwardly inclined as far as possible the upper part (9) fits over like a lid to cover the lower part so that the chair becomes a closed unit in the form of a square box which is rounded along the front and rear edges. In this closed state the chair is completely protected from the effects of the weather and furthermore if provided with a suitable lock the lower part becomes a larger safe storage chamber for various articles. The width of the upper part is pref. larger or smaller than the lower part so that it fits neatly inside or over the side walls of the lower part providing a smaller unit for easier storage. |
