PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly adapt a system to diversification of media such as animations, picture, sound, still pictures, texts, etc., by performing a main process, a scheduler process, and a storage medium access process in parallel. SOLUTION: The media server 1 provides data of various media for a plurality of users 3 through a network 2. The media server 1 consists of the main process 4, the scheduler process 5, the storage medium access process 6, and a storage medium 7, and a media data base 8 is placed on the storage medium 7. A user 3 specifies a desired media and receives its transferred data. Then this media server 1 accepts a request from the user 3 by the main process 4, transfers the data by the scheduler process 5, and reads the data out of the storage medium 7 by the storage medium access process 6. Then those processes are placed in mutually independent and parallel operation. |
