PURPOSE:To uniformize an average stagnant time in a queue on congestion of data links in the store and forward network whose throughput is set in the unit of storage links. CONSTITUTION:A length of a queue is set in response to a throughput. Concretely, when a throughput indicates a range at which its signal transmission speed is smaller than a speed of a transmission channel, a length of a queue is set longer than the length queued at a measurement interval on congestion restriction (301), smaller than a length in an in-network delay time (302) and to a range (303) longer than a length at which frame abort takes place due to overflow as shown in (300) in Figure. Many advantages are obtained by setting the length of queue with a linear equation expressed with two coefficients within the range. Or the length of the queue may be set based on a value dividing the throughput by a mean frame length.
|
