<p>PURPOSE: To make the manufacturing cost reducible by decreasing the number of contacts as much as possible to reduce the possibility of the occurrence of failure such as seizure and defective contact and moreover to simplify the constitution of a steering device. CONSTITUTION: The torsion of a torsion bar 16 interposed between a steering shaft 2 and a pinion shaft 3 is taken out from a torsion quantity converting section 12 composed of planetary gear mechanism to the brush moving gear 30 of a brush moving mechanism 15, and brushes 31a, 31b are relatively moved to permanent magnets 36N, 36S around the driving shaft 9 of a steering auxiliary motor 8 according to its rotating quantity. A steering device is set up so that the larger the torsion quantity of the torsion bar 16, namely steering torque, may be, the larger electromagnetic force generated between turned-on coils 34a-34h and the permanent magnets 36N, 36S may increase, and the rotational driving force is therefore amplified by a speed reducer composed of a pinion gear 10 and a ring gear 11 for generating steering auxiliary force coinciding in a steering direction.</p> |
