<p>There is provided an optical recording medium formed based on a drastically new concept of forming a phase-change recording layer by using other elements than chalcogen. The optical recording medium (1) has a phase-change recording layer (5) thereof formed such that a reversible phase change of the phase-change recording layer (5) between an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase can be utilized.
