Method and control unit for radio link adaptation

The adaptation process has base stations (20a,20b) and mobile stations (10a,10b,10c). A protection scheme is applied amongst available schemes. Stations communicate to a control unit (22) error values of symbols transmitted. The control unit consults a transfer table to selectively adapt the protection scheme from relative errors observed at reception, processing the statistical parameters to set the transfer table.
