An automotive lubricant composition comprises a white oil basestock and at l east one polyisoalkylene compound. The polyisoalkylene, e.g., polyisobutylene, acts as an antioxidant. The lubricant is used, for ex emple, as an engine oil, gear oil or automatic transmiss ion fluid. The lubricant may contain one or more additional antioxidants and other lubr icant additives.
