METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING NAM INFORMATION USING OTA IN CELLULAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting NAM(Number Assignment Module) information using OTA(Over-The-Air) in a cellular communication system is provided to perform all OTA processes for a designated NAM, thereby transmitting terminal information to a currently activated NAM and an inactivated NAM by using the OTA. CONSTITUTION: An MSC assigns a traffic channel between an MS and an OTA server. The OTA server encapsulates an NAM selection request message in an OTA standard message, and transmits the encapsulated message to the MS through the traffic channel. The MS selects an NAM where OTA is to be performed in reference to information of the NAM selection request message, loads an NAM selection response message into the standard message, and transmits the message to the OTA server. The OTA server encapsulates various defined messages in the OTA standard message, and transmits the encapsulated messages to the MS. The MS performs contents of the received message, and transmits performed results to the OTA server. The MSC cancels the assigned traffic channel by recognizing OTA service completion.
