OPTICAL INFORMATION STORING MEDIUM AND RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An optical information storing medium and a recording/reproducing method thereof are provided to improve the corresponding force when a normal recording speed is not obtained by errors in the fabrication procedure of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION: An optical information storing medium includes a lead-in area having an exclusive playing data zone(10), a connection zone(20) and a rewritable data zone(30). Basic information on a disc formed in the pit or high frequency wobble format to an innermost periphery of a disc is recorded to the exclusive playing data zone. The exclusive playing data zone has a disc-related zone(10a) for recording normal recording speed of the disc together with the size, the version number and other recording conditions of the disc. The connection zone has a transition zone for connecting the exclusive data recording zone with the rewritable data zone. The rewritable data zone has a disc test zone(30a), a drive test zone(30b), a disc control data zone(30c) and a defect management zone(30d).
