PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for learning the remote controller of a television set are provided to use remote controllers of other systems for the television set in the case that the remote controller of the television set is lost. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for learning the remote controller of a television set includes a personal computer(10), a remote controller(30), and a television set(20). The personal computer outputs a signal for instructing a remote signal to be converted into a remote learning mode through a serial communication port. The remote controller outputs a remote signal corresponding to a button pushed by a user through an infrared emitting device. The television set learns the remote signal received through an infrared receiving device according to the instruction transmitted from the personal computer, stores the remote signal in a memory and operates in response to the remote signal. |
