PURPOSE: Provided is a composition comprising an extract of Zizania latifolia TURCZ. having HCV inhibiting activity. Therefore, it is useful for medicine and health food supplements for the prevention and treatment of HCV. CONSTITUTION: A composition is characterized by comprising an extract of Zizania latifolia TURCZ. having prevention and treatment effects on HCV. The extract is obtained by using a polar solvent, such as water and butanol or nonpolar solvent, such as ethylacetate and chloroform solvent. The composition contains 0.5-50% of the extract, based on the total weight of the composition.
