CERTIFICATE VALIDITY VERIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A certificate validity verification system and a method thereof are provided to verify validity of a certificate using the latest certification authority without a message receiver's verification of the abolition of the certificate to the authority. CONSTITUTION: According to the certificate validity verification method applied in a certificate validity verification system including a principal(10) transmitting a message including a certificate and a verifier(20) receiving the message including the certificate and a certification authority(30) issuing and verifying the certificate, a recency period trusting that the certificate is valid is set. It is judged whether the certificate received by the verifier is within the recency period or not. If the received certificate is not within the recency period, the verifier inquiries the certification authority about whether to abolish the received certificate.
