PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing partial wear of brush roll for strip cleaning is provided to improve the life time of the brush roll and improve degreasing efficiency by moving the brush roll in a width direction of strip so that the brush roll is constantly worn out. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a brush roll(10) which is installed lengthwise in a width direction of strip, both ends of which are longitudinally slidingly supported, and on one side shaft(12) of which key(14) is projectingly formed along the outer circumferential surface of the shaft; a driving motor(40) for rotationally driving the brush roll(10); a free body of revolution(30) along the inner circumferential surface of which groove(36) is formed so that the key(14) is inserted into the groove(36), and which is rotationally mounted on the shaft(12); and a cylinder installed in such a way that the free body of revolution(30) is longitudinally reciprocated to a certain length, wherein the apparatus further comprises a power transmission member(60) on the outer surface of one side of which screw thread(34) engaged with screw thread(34) formed on the outer surface of the free body of revolution(30) is formed, on the outer surface of the other side of which pinion(64) is formed, and which is mounted on facility frame so that the power transmission member(60) is axially rotated; a rack(70) which is engaged with the pinion(64) of the power transmission member(60), and one side of which is connected to the cylinder; and a supporting roll(80) installed at a lower part of the rack(70) to support longitudinal movement of the rack(70).
