PURPOSE: A method of sensing reverse rotation of the engine in a vehicle is provided to prohibit a failure decision in a suction flow-detecting unit and a suction air pressure-detecting unit and prevent fuel injection into the engine, in reverse rotation of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A method of sensing reverse rotation of the engine in a vehicle comprises steps of detecting an engine-reverse rotation signal according to a signal output from a crank shaft rotation-detecting unit and a signal output from a TDC(Top Dead Center,S2); performing normal fuel injection if the detected result is not the engine-reverse rotation signal(S3), and detecting a sudden change of each signal output from a suction flow-detecting unit and a suction air pressure-detecting unit if the detected result is the engine-reverse rotation signal(S4); and performing normal fuel injection if the sudden change doesn't occur, and prohibiting a failure decision in the suction flow-detecting unit and the suction air pressure-detecting unit and prohibiting fuel injection if the sudden change occurs(S5).
