PURPOSE: A descramble error message output method in a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to allow a user to recognize a descrambled state more correctly. CONSTITUTION: A descramble error message output method includes the first step of receiving a scrambled digital broadcasting signal and descrambling the received digital broadcasting signal, the second step of confirming whether or not the digital broadcasting signal has ever been descrambled normally, and the third step of variably controlling the point of time of outputting an error message that informs a user that descrambling is impossible according to the confirmed result. The first step generates and outputs an OSD image that informs the user that descrambling is being carried out. The second step is confirmed by a descramble flag setting value stored in tuning data of the digital broadcasting signal. When the digital broadcasting signal has been normally descrambled, a corresponding descramble flag value is converted into a specific value and stored. |
