<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk medium capable of grasping easily the remaining quantity of a recordable area of a disk medium by sight without mounting the disk medium on an optical disk drive, the optical disk drive recording the indication of the remaining quantity in the disk medium, and a recording method for recording the indication of the remaining quantity. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive recording and reproducing data by irradiating a disk in which tracks are formed with a light beam, is equipped with an optical pickup 65 irradiating the light beam on the disk 61 via an objective lens 70, a first movement means 68 for moving the pickup 65 in the direction of a radius of the disk 61, a memory 99 storing positional information of scale marks 15 for indicating the remaining quantity of the recording capacity, a second movement means 98 for moving the objective lens 70 in the direction of a tangent of the track based on the positional information, and a control means for controlling to form a scale mark line 17 in the radius direction and the tangent direction of the disk 61 by the first movement means and the second movement means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
