The charging pressure regulation method adjusts the charging pressure for minimizing the difference between an actual output parameter value of the turbochargers (6,8) and a required parameter value during a first regulation phase and in a second regulation phase the difference between the actual output parameter value and the required parameter value is used for providing a setting value for adjusting the latter. A first regulation stage (110) is used for the first regulation phase and a second regulation stage (115) is used for the second regulation phase. An Independent claim for a device for regulating the charging pressure of exhaust gas turbochargers for an IC engine is also included.
