<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute transmission reception of data between communication apparatuses in a shortest time by utilizing high speed optical communication and medium-speed optical communication (or electric communication). <P>SOLUTION: In a system wherein a master side communication apparatus and a plurality of slave side communication apparatuses make one to multi communication, the master side communication apparatus selects the communication method such that in the case of data transmission (100: YES) and when the data amount is the threshold value or less (130: YES), the master side communication apparatus utilizes the medium speed optical communication to make data communication with the slave side communication apparatuses (140), and when the data amount exceeds the threshold value (130: NO), the master side communication apparatus utilizes the high speed optical communication to make data communication with the slave side communication apparatuses (150). Further, the master side communication apparatus inquires of the slave side communication apparatuses about presence/absence of data and an amount of data by means of polling (170, 180) and selects the communication method depending on the data amount similarly to the case above when receiving data from the slave side communication apparatuses (190 to 220). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
