<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation inputting device and image forming device having operation setting items in a hierarchical structure for selecting and instructing the operation setting items with high operability. <P>SOLUTION: This operation inputting device and image forming device is provided with an operating part 10 having operation setting items in a hierarchical structure for accepting the specification of the hierarchy, and for accepting an operation with respect to the operation setting item included in the specific hierarchy and an instruction inputting part 11 for accepting an operating instruction with respect to the operation setting item without making it necessary to specify the hierarchy for at least one operation setting item. In this case, a normal operation may be performed according to the hierarchical structure with respect to the desired operation setting item, and the operation setting instruction may be directly performed without specifying the hierarchical structure.
