PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup apparatus capable of setting two kinds of optimum voltages to a common constant voltage line. SOLUTION: A line used to apply a voltage to a photoelectric conversion element (102) is used in common to a line used to apply a voltage to a read circuit (106), and the solid-state image pickup apparatus is provided with a means (131) to vary the voltage on the common line (101). The means comprises: two operational amplifiers (141a, 141b) for buffering the optimum voltage; and switches (142a, 142b) for selectively coupling their outputs to the voltage line (101).
