PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device for confirming whether a disk is surely clamping by a disk clamping mechanism or not before the disk is shifted to a next movement. SOLUTION: An extended part 7 for shutting off an optical signal of an optical sensor 9 is provided in a clamping part 5 of the disk clamping mechanism 4 for clamping the disk D. When a first extended region 7a of the extended part 7 shuts off the optical signal of the optical sensor 9, the disk D is determined to be correctly clamped by the clamping part 5. When the optical signal is not shut off by a cutout region 7c of the extended part facing the optical sensor 9, clamping of the disk is determined to be failed to repeat retry operation.
