<p>A paper filter (4) is placed in a casing (2) and a cover (3) placed on the casing to pre-form a filter cartridge (1). The filter cartridge is then spun as putty (resin) is fed into the filter. The putty is ejected by centrifugal force onto the periphery of the filter, along the internal wall of the metal casing. The filter continues to rotate throughout polymerisation of the putty. The rotation of the filter cartridge ensures that the putty is spread over its periphery by centrifugal force. The paper filter has a means of protection combined with the means of ejection. The putty is a mono- component and the polymerisation is carried out by heating. Alternatively, the putty is bi-composite and is polymerized at ambient temperature.
