ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with improved electron-transporting performance to a luminescent layer and to improve luminescent efficiency. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has a luminescent layer 3, in between the anode 1 and the cathode 2, and formed by dispersing a luminescent organic compound to a host organic compound. The luminescent layer 3 contains an electron-transporting organic compound with a bigger energy gap than the host organic compound and which supplies electrons from the cathode 2 to the luminescent organic compound. The electrons from the cathode 2 are efficiently transferred to the luminescent layer 3 to thereby provide excellent balance between a hole injection amount and an electron injection amount to the electroluminescent layer 3.
