PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the power efficiency and enhance the response. SOLUTION: A rectifier 34 rectifies the AC voltage from an AC power source. A step-down chopper 36 steps down this rectified voltage. This step-down chopper 36 includes FETs 40a and 40b the on periods of which are controlled by pulse width modulated signals, and steps down the AC voltage from the rectifier 34 by the control of these on periods. A DC-AC converter 50 converts the AC voltage from this step-down chopper 36 into AC voltage, and this supplies it to electrodes 59 and 60 for plating. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
