<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell exhausting no harmful substance to the outside. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with a positive electrode 1 reducing oxygen, a negative electrode 2 oxidizing a fuel, an electrolyte layer 3 provided between the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2, the fuel composed of methanol solution, and exhaust port 5 exhausting carbon dioxide formed by oxidizing the fuel 4. This fuel cell is formed with a means for providing catalyst as a means for oxidizing and removing formaldehyde, formic acid, and carbon monoxide, which are formed by incompletely oxidizing the fuel 4, in the exhaust port 5 and/or a means for providing adsorbent adsorbing them in the exhaust port 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
