PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve life characteristics of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has relatively large capacity and is used for a usage discharging relatively in a large current.

SOLUTION: This is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which uses a lithium manganese compound oxide of a spinel structure for an positive electrode active material and a carbon material for a negative electrode active material. The porosity of the positive electrode mixture layer is smaller than the porosity of the negative electrode mixture layer.
