PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a motor capable of attaining higher assembly accuracy of a plurality of core components forming a stator core than conventional ones. SOLUTION: The apparatus 30 and the method for manufacturing the motor permit the core components to be positioned by being pressed against the circular inner-periphery surface of the cylindrical housing 11 in a process where a cylindrical housing 11 is thermally contracted. Therefore, there occurs no such dislocation as found in the conventional ones. As a result, the inner- periphery surface of each of the core components becomes circular corresponding to the circular inner-periphery surface of the cylindrical housing 11, thus attaining higher assembly accuracy of the plurality of core components 14 in the conventional ones.
