PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus the start time of which is reduced by efficiently setting various setting values of a video signal processing circuit required at start. SOLUTION: The setting procedure at start of a video camera comprises: reading top marker data from an EEPROM after application of power to confirm whether or not the marker data are correct; reading a setting flag to confirm the necessity of setting a register; reading a setting value from the EEPROM and setting the value to the register requiring the setting; confirming the setting flag for all registers to set a required setting value to them; reading end marker data from the EEPROM, and discriminating the normal setting to start a control microcomputer when confirming the correctness of the marker data.
