PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To not only correctly restore data from a parity even when the disk failure occurs in one of RAID disks, but also predict a deterioration in application. SOLUTION: This storage system is provided with a plurality of disk array devices to which a host operating applications is connected through a network and a management server, and the disk array device is provided with a physical disk abnormality detecting means for detecting the abnormality of a physical disk, and the management server for storing the corresponding relations of applications, logical volumes used by the applications, and physical disks corresponding to the logical volumes is provided with an application detecting means for detecting the application using the logical volume corresponding to the physical disk where abnormality occurs in accordance with the corresponding relations when the abnormality of the physical disk is detected by the physical disk abnormality detecting means of the disk array device.
