<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve energy saving of lighting of streets such as roads and sidewalks at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A dimming type electronic ballast 11, an automatic flicker 12 and a timer 13 are incorporated into a luminaire 1 and a control is switched to a dimmer control of a lamp 4 (or putting out the lamp 4) by the dimming type electronic ballast 11 at the point of the lapse of prescribed time (four hours, for instance) after lighting the lamp 4 (100% lighting) in the nighttime by the controls of the functional parts, to reduce power consumption at midnight when there is little traffic amount. By incorporating the dimming type electronic ballast 11, the automatic flicker 12 and the timer 13 into the luminaire 1, an installation work is simplified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
