<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine whereby a conventional vending machine equipped with a cash processing mechanism can be used also as a prepaid system. <P>SOLUTION: The vending machine is provided with an insertion port for inserting a coin or an IC coin having a coin-like shape, a delivery port for returning the coin or the IC coin, and a temporary keeping part for temporarily keeping the coin or the IC coin inserted into the insertion port in the vending machine. An IC reader-writer is provided in the temporary keeping part in order to access a signal for reducing sum data in correspondence with a price of a commodity sold by the vending machine from sum data stored in the IC coin with respect to the temporarily kept IC coin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
