PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing a rechargeable battery in a way to reflect a state of the rechargeable battery at a certain time point. SOLUTION: The battery managing method measures a discharging time from full charging or exchanging the rechargeable battery to decrease in a battery voltage to a threshold value. The measured charging time is compared with a reference value, and when it is less than the reference value, the battery is full charged. In addition to the discharging time, a current produced on the discharging can be measured, based on which the amount of charge from the battery during the discharging being determined and compared with a comparison value. If the battery voltage has decreased to the voltage threshold value before the amount of charge equal to the comparison value is drawn from the battery, then the battery is full discharged.
