<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a frequency component exerting an adverse effect on an adjacent channel. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitter (202) incorporating baseband-derived prediction includes: a main signal path 203 for receiving an input signal and generating a main signal; a filter 234 in the main signal path for eliminating an unwanted signal component from the main signal; a power amplifier 242 with nonlinearity; a digital predistortion module 212 for digitally processing the input signal to generate a predistortion signal that models an inverse of the nonlinearity of the power amplifier 242; and a means 219, located between the filter 234 and the power amplifier 242, for combining the predistortion signal with the main signal to produce a combined signal and for providing the combined signal to the power amplifier 242. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
